My interest in art began in high school starting with jewelry fabrication to building sculptures along the San Francisco Bay with recycled materials. This led to taking studio classes at San Francisco Art Institute while still in high school. When I graduated I continued to study art at California College of Arts and Crafts and Laney College in Oakland. Later, I focused my interests to become a Landscape Architect. I found my creative energy and 3- dimensional view of the world to be very useful in my profession, though, with different materials and different scale. Currently, I’m pursuing my sculptural aspirations through welded steel & ceramic sculpture, which evoke both whimsy and abstraction. I feel my work continues to imply a sense of scale and monumentality.
